*Chokes*

Is anybody else vomitting with nervousosity at the display of "30 days" at the top of this blog?!?!

Probably not, but I am.

There is SO MUCH to do yet! I haven't even bought luggage! Or snowpants! Or anything! Or even sent in my media survey! Which I forgot about! And ack! I should get on that!

Anyway, I suppose luggage will be taken care of on Saturday- it MUST be. I HAVE TO START PACKING! In fact, I woke up at 2.30 this morning and started thinking about ow to get my snow boots, other shoes and sleeping bag into a suitcase and then what else I could put in there (breakables, because the sleeping bag can protect and cushion them)!!!!!

*Breathe in, breathe out*

Sure. Whatever.

I work from 11am to 4pm today, so that's what I'll be up to, if you care! Later!!!

I HATE YOU BLOGGER!

Okay, so, I hate my Blogger Beta, because NOBODY can comment on it! And that makes me mad and not want to update. But I shall. I shall soldier on like a soldier in a soldier camp.

I've got some fantastic advice from some Katimalumni I stalked, erm, found on Bebo, so I'm really psyched, but still quite nervous. My stomac nearly dropped when I checked this page and found '1 month 5 days' glaring back at me. It's unnerving. I am nowhere near ready.

Some lady phoned me this morning and asked if I do furnace cleaning. So, I explained to her, that I don't, that this is my house. So, she reads me a number off of a pamphlet. And I say, yes, that is my number, but no, I am not a furnace cleaner. So, she muses (aloud, like I care) that maybe they've gone out of business. And so I say, yeah, well it must have been a while ago since I've had this phone number for almost 10 years. She says, So this is a residence and not a business? Yes, I say. So, she says okay, and hangs up. Less than 5 minutes later she calls back and asks me if I do fire place cleaning, because the pamphlet says that aswell. And I say, no. And she asks me if anyone here does. And I say no, I ... um... live here- as in, this is a HOUSE. And she goes, yeah, okay, maybe I'll throw this pamplet away. UMMMM, YEAH!!!!!! Maybe you should have thought of that after the first time I told you I don't clean furnaces!?!?!?!!!!! So, I just said, Okay. Bye. And hung up. That was an hour ago, and she hasn't called again, so I think se gets the point, and actually threw out the pamphlet. Anyway, just to make sure I'm going to ask my parents or my 16 year old brother if any of them are cleaning furnaces these days.

Oh, and yesterday we got a call from some Conservative-facist group asking if we thought gays should be allowed to marry. My mom told us not to say anything, but I yelled YESSSSSSS!!!!!! Point one for the gays.

So, that was pretty much all I came here to talk about.

If you need your furnace cleaned, please call me at 1.800.Please throw out your 20-year-old pamphlets, kthnx.

Thanksgiving, etc.

Okay, firstly, I am mad at Blogger Beta, because it won't let me comment on non-Beta blogs :( Bastards.

Well, I suppose you've realized from my witty title, that this blog will be about Thanksgiving, et cetera. So, I'll get on with it.

On Saturday we (as in my familia et moi) travelled up to Edmonton for Thanksgiving dinner. And that was pretty much it. The food was AWESOME. We had turkey (durr), ham, BROCCOLI AND CHEESE CASSEROL (MI AMOR!!!!), mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes (which I don't like), salad, cabbage rolls, sausage meat, stuffing (again, durrr), and THREE KINDS OF AMAZING PIE (ha ha, Butterscotch, Caramel Apple, and then, Pumpkin obviously. It was fantastic!). Pretty much the cousins that were there (i.e., My brother Matt, Kayla, Jeannine, Emmalee and I) stayed in the basement and played LIFE, went upstairs to get food and say grace, went back downstairs to eat, went upstairs for various pies, and then stayed upstairs to chat with older relatives, such as our parents. I answered some questions about Katimavik, and held a class on how to say "La Pocatiere," and at the end everyone said bye to me for the next year. Oh, and my dad terrorized Kay's boyfriend, Issac, over the phone for a bit, before we dropped Kay off at his house, which was an experience aswell. Then we drove home.

On Sunday I worked from 10am to 3pm, then I went home, and at 7 my family and I went to see "Little Miss Sunshine," which was SPECTACULAR. I loved every second of it! Then we went to Starbucks, yum yum.

Yesterday I worked from 9am to 5pm in the hell that is called Home Depot on Thanksgiving Monday. It was INSANE all day long, I wanted to kick everyone in the head. ARRGGG!

Today, I'm supposed to clean my room (har har). I'd better do it thoug because my mom is quite close to killing me, and I am quite close to writing unappealing things about her. But in the spirit of dignity, I will not.

My Katima-group is already in the news!

I found this on a website: it's about MY Katima-group and how we need a home. It also mentions some of the organizations we may be involved with!

Beta

Okay, now I have Blogger Beta, because I wanted to see what all the fuss is about. I already had a Gmail account, so what I'm wondering is, if you sign up for Beta, does that mean they'll give you a Gmail account? I mean, it's not hard to get one, but some people do want one and that could be easier than waiting for a friend to send you an invite.

Edit: Okay, so I've gone through all of my posts and labelled them. The main label is "Journal," this is any kind of random entry. Also, "Katimavik," which has anything to do with Katimavik. Then there are "Video," "Photos," and "Random Lyrics," which are self-explanatory. Oh, and "Blogger," which is anything to do with Blogger. So... yeah. Slightly more organized!

KATIMAVIK DESTINATIONS!

[I wrote this in an e-mail to Lissa and thought I'd repost it. WhheeeeeeE!)

Ahem, it's the moment we've all been waiting for, and unfortuently, it is almost 3am your time, so an e-mail will have to do, followed by a virtual screamfest at a later date.

I will enclose the location, the dates in the location, and some stuff about the location thanks to Wikipedia!

Destination #1: Kelowna, BC - November 22, 2006 to February 21, 2007

Kelowna is located in the Central Okanagan in BC. In 2005 it had a population of 105,000 (i.e. about a tenth of the size of my home city of Calgary, AB). It's the most expensive housing market after Toronto, Calgary, Vancouver and Victoria. It is often referred to as "California North," because of it's unique climate. (Yay, since I will be there in the winter!!!) Kelowna as an International Airport with frequent flights from Calgary (so maybe I can fly!!!). And there are three libraries, which is good because with no libraries, I would die. Kelowna's sister cities are Veendam, Netherlands and Kasugi, Japan. I also may be eaten by the Ogopogo, which would definately make it worthwhile.

Destination #2: Orleans, ON - February 21, 2007 to May 23, 2007

Orleans became part of the city of Ottawa in 2001. It is about 16km from downtown Ottawa. It is one of the wealthiest suburbs in Ottawa, and has about 85,000 people living there.Orleans has a sizeable French population, although it has been decreasing in recent years. The best part is, the central gathering in Orleans is Place d'Orleans, a shopping center with over 175 stores! That made me so happy. Plus it quite literally Ottawa, so there are all of the Ottawa-landmarks aswell!

Destination #3: La Pocatiere, QC- May 23, 2007 to August 22, 2007

La Pocatiere is located on the lower region of the St. Laurence river. There is a rail car manufacturing plant as well as a college and some agricultural buildings. There is also a large museum of agricultural history and life in the 1900s. But the best part of the museum is the floor dedicated entirely to the manufacturing of maple syrup. Yum. The population is a whopping 4,500 people (AHHHHH!!!!!!!). Oh, and I suppose + 12 because we'll be there. On the brigt side, it looks really gorgey, especially since we'll be there in spring! Oh and they also have a library! And their own website! OoOoh, and a MEDIEVAL FESTIVAL in August! I am so there.
\n \nSo, yup, there you have it! My journey around Canada <3\n\n",0]>

For some reason I have turned into a techno fiend...

... I wonder how that happened?

Anyway, today is Tuesday. Tuesday of THE WEEK. I expect my placement thingies to arrive either Wednesday, Thursday or Friday because of the obvious 3000+ kilometres between Montreal and Calgary. So, yes... no news from the Katima-front yet.

Well, I don't really have much to say, because everything that has happened has happened and I'm not really focused on it anymore.

Dinner with amigos on Saturday was fun. Umm... Me, Justine, Reese (now also known as Justine's boyfriend), Karla, Shiela (Justine's friend), Shane (Shiela's boyfriend), Cam and Alex (Cam's friend) all kicked it at Baja, close to Justine's house. Somehow I got wasted on a Smirnoff Ice and a Paralyzer, which gave me great joy when I went to the bathroom which was decorated in a quazi-mexi-style with flowers. Except that I went into the handicapped stall and couldn't reach the toilet paper. Oh, and Justine left me in the bathroom so I was screaming "Juuussstttttiiiiiinnnnneee!" But it all wore off quite fast, especially when I washed it down with some uber fantastic chocolate cake (that I shared with Karla so I wouldn't die). And then we went to the park and played some of it off. But then there was some drama that I won't get into, because who cares, really, and I had to pee but nobody would come with me and it was dark, so I called my dad to come pick me up at about 8.30ish. (YES it was PITCH BLACK at 8.30ish!!!) I was completely exausted, probably as a result of being up early to volunteer and then being drawn to Bridget Jones's Diary when I should have gone for a nap.

So, back to techno. My fav song right now = Fable by Robert Miles. But I also luurve the DJ Epic remix!
